Each piece of art consists of layers of wood. Select Pine or Basswood or Maple are most frequently used. Pictures for design are found from Old West scenes, movies or simply from Zeke's imagination.
The scene is cut out on a scroll saw initially, Then the background and figures are carved using primarily a Dremel Drill. When satisfied, Zeke will stain and/or paint the entire carving making certain to complete correct dimensions and depth,
Then the parts are glued together and the whole scene is scrutinized to make certain of the depth and detail is as accurate as possible.
Finally a frame is mitered and placed around the carving in a manner to create the appropriate depth effect. Generally, it takes about three months or more, working 2-4 hours per day to complete a piece.
